I'll be honest, I don't know if he realized it or not, but I was on a date with Jeff Tweedy last week at Largo. Ok, Ok, Jason Friday was with me and so were some of the SoCal Sound staff (Hillary, Rob, and Tristan). Way to block a date, guys. ;-0
We all popped by Largo to record a SoCal Sound session with Mr. Tweedy. What was a simple sound check pre-show for Jeff became a very special private concert for us. As life-long Tweedy/Wilco fans, we were all pretty giddy. We even got to pull out our cameras (only just a bit) - which Largo lifers know is normally prohibited!
We ended up with seven songs performed just for us by Jeff - who was accompanied on vocals at times by his two sons Spencer and Sammy. Harmonies on high, that's for sure. And there's something about family harmonies that really hit the mark.
We're lucky enough to share these performances this week and I'll play clips from my chat with Jeff for our 88-5 ALBUM DIVE into the new record Twilight Override. Tune in every weekday this week just after 12p PT for a little mini Tweedy concert and then some.
